David and I went to our child birthing class this weekend. I'm still amazed at how the baby gets out! I'm not really sure what God was thinking!!!!
There is a lot to remember, and I hope David took good notes! There are lots of labor positions (prior to epidural time) and different breathing techniques for the different stages of labor. I also hope that when he unswaddles our baby, that she doesn't end up on the floor like our fake baby did today. :)
As I keep getting bigger, the more uncomfortable I become....not a big surprise. My lower back bothers me the most - although having to get up at night to use the bathroom isn't doing much for my sleep. Some nights I do get away with only getting up once - which makes me very happy. On the nights that I'm up three times, I'm usually cranky and ready to go home around lunchtime. From stories I have heard from others - I don't think I'm as moody or irritable as some - but maybe that comes when I can no longer put on my shoes (which is getting harder each day). (oh...and David may have another opinion on that too.....but I don't think I've bitten of his head yet.) Baby also continues to move a great deal, but her movements are different now. She's getting stronger, so sometimes a change in position for her makes me grab my side (or front) in pain - but it's only for a second. I can feel parts of her at times when she sticks them out - like her knees and elbows, although contrary to what I have read - I can't tell the difference. I have to say it's pretty cool though. While I haven't seem a HUGE move from one side to the other - I do have smaller movements that I can see and she is just amazing. Sometimes too I can tell what side she is mostly on when one side of my stomach sticks out farther than the other. I look a little lopsided! And she still gets the hiccups quite often too.
We are also continuing to get the nursery ready. I'm working on getting the decorations up (and bought), but the bed is ready, and so is the changing table. I also want to get her name in letters to put over her crib, but we haven't named her - and for those who keep asking - we probably won't until she is born. We did confirm today with our child birthing class teacher that we can't leave the hospital until she has a name, so don't worry - she won't go home as Baby Anonymous.
We are in the home stretch now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heeheehee quite a BFB (big fat belly) you got there. I bet she is going to be a big one. Shall we start a pool to see how close anyone gets to the birth weight? And delivery date also. Hang in there my little girl. It's a wonderful experience and when you hold that little bundle you will be struck by the wonder of it all. Love Mom
Keep growing my dear!! She will be about 9bls I think, and she only comes out of ONE small , but ample hole!! Push, yell, push,yell..I think thats how it all went. Then David will reach for the camera and we can all see how wonderful Gods work truly is.
Love all the updates...thanks Julie and David for a wonderful journey!
